How do I use it?
The most popular ways to use The Shakti Mat are on the neck and shoulders, back, legs, feet, and even on your belly! Your entire body can benefit. Simply let The Mat apply pressure to your body.
For most, The Shakti Mat hurts at first. This soon transforms into sensations of tingling, pulsating, and warmth. It takes a few minutes to get past the intensity and over the ‘hump’ before being left with a sense of calm, well-being, and restoration.
TIP: If the affect is too intense at first, a thin shirt can be worn to ease your body into the sensation. Over time as your body adjusts you can move to bare-skin for the full Shakti experience.
There is no limit for time or frequency of a Shakti session, and it is completely normal to fall asleep on the Mat. We recommend users aim for 15 minutes or more to experience the full acupressure effect; or 2-3 minutes if standing.
Because the mat’s points are quite sharp, they naturally leave indentations on the skin, as well as a redness in the area due to circulation. This is not harmful and shows the mat is doing its job!
