Irish Moss is an amazing sea vegetable, also referred to as Sea Moss. This amazing sea vegetable has been used for centuries to support a wide variety of ailments, from respiratory issues, bladder disorders, bronchitis, halitosis (bad breath), intestinal disorders and glandular problems to swollen joints, lung difficulties, thyroid conditions, tuberculosis, tumors, and ulcers.

Irish Moss (Chondrus crispus) is also a plentiful source of fibre, vitamin K, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc and many other nutrients.

How To Use

Simmer in water to make a broth, or rehydrate and leave to form a gel which will keep for weeks in the fridge. (The gel can be applied directly to skin to moisturise or soothe as an ingredient in home-made cosmetics.)

Add to smoothies and broths as a cleansing and nourishing supplement.

Use as a gelatin substitute to set raw desserts or add texture and nutrients to jams.

Use instead of eggs in vegan baking.

Use to thicken sauces and add to dressings instead of oil.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Irish Moss is light sensitive and may lighten in colour if exposed to sunlight for extended periods of time.

Seaweeds are hygroscopic, meaning they absorb moisture from the air, so seal securely once opened.
